Short Biography Josh Feldman is a first-year graduate student pursuing his PhD in Electrical Engineering. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2019 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. His research focus is on thermal management and mechanical design of superconducting machines.
Short Biography Max Lewis is a first year graduate student perusing his Ph.D in electrical engineering. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in Fall 2020 with a B.S. in electrical engineering. His focus is in electric drives and machines but other interests include power systems and renewable energy.
Short Biography Anjana graduated from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 2018 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he joined the department of Electrical Engineering of University of Moratuwa as a Temporary Lecturer. He’ll be starting his studies as a graduate student at UIUC from fall 2020. His focused area is electrical machines and drives. Other research interests are renewable energy generation and storage.
Short Biography Samith graduated from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2016. As a second year M.S. student, his focus is on Electrical machines and drives.
Short Biography Theepan is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at UIUC.
Short Biography Peter joined the team in the spring of 2017. He loves the aerospace applications of electrical machines and devices. His research focuses on the design and construction of manned electrical multi-rotor vehicle. He also provides CAD support and design visualization for the group. He obtained his B.S. in Electrical Engineering at UIUC in 2019, and is currently pursuing his M.S.
Short Biography Xiaolong Zhang received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China, in 2011 and 2014, respectively. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. From August 2014 to July 2015, he was working as a research engineer in the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. His research interests are on the design and optimization of electrical machines used in emerging fields, e.g. renewable energy and electrified vehicles, etc.
Short Biography Junhan Zhao is a first-year graduate student perusing his M.S. in electrical engineering. He received his bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Fall 2020.
